Lenart is a small town and municipality in northeastern Slovenia. The municipality of Lenart has just over 11,000 inhabitants and the town itself has around 4,000. It is considered the centre of Slovenske gorice. The area was part of the traditional region of Lower Styria. It is now included in the Drava statistical region. The local parish church from which the village and municipality get their name is dedicated to Saint Leonard and belongs to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Maribor. It is originally a Gothic church, first mentioned in written documents dating to 1196. It was expanded in the 16th century.
